Xpression is the color guard section of Unik Star. Gathering about 10 members, this section performs choregraphic shows every year mixing flag, rifle, sabre and dance. Xpression comes to life in 2005 while competing for the first time in the winterguard circuit. Indeed, our members have been partipating in french and european competitions for serveral years in this discipline with improving scores. The 2006 season was important to Xpression because of the promotion in the above class (going from the « Prep Class » to the « A Class » of the CGN circuit in the Netherlands) with an excellent score of 89,1 pts. Another step for Xpression for the 2008 season. Indeed, the staff calls on external contributors to grow and give a new impulsion. This task is given to Ilona Hamstra from the Netherlands ; and for the technical part, Xpression welcomes Norman F King, an american who teaches in high schools in the east of the United States. That's how the color guards get a promotion at their first CGN contest in 2008 in Waalwijk (NL) with a score of 58,7 points and go from the AA-Class to the A-Class; moreover, Xpression finishes the circuit with a score of 65.1 points. The members of this section celebrated their 5th year in winterguard in 2009 with the program "The difference" ; the final contest was the best score since 5 year in the A-Class : 70,7 points ! A Top score for this fabulous program with only 7 color guards !!!

2010 : the staff called on a expert english unit for a new program. Alliance Winterguard based in Colchester in England has build "The Forbidden Colour" with all equipements, flags, uniforms and a fabulous music for a new advance program and a exclusive conception.

4 foreign instructors will come for this new Challenge : Jason and Denni Hawke, Helen Tomlin and Cheryl Gray. The Coordinator, Jason Hawke, has marched, taught and judged at all levels within DCUK, DCE and BYBA since 1988.

For this 6th winterguard season, Xpression Performance Ensemble participates in England at the WGUK Circuit ; Our members took the second place in Crawley and Colchester. They participated at the WGI European Regional in Drachten (NL) and they received a score of 69.0 points and a 5th place in the final selection (19 groups competitors in A Class) and finished the WGUK Circuit with 78,1 points.


A new conception by Alliance with a new winterguard production. The music is Requiem For A Dream for 2011 and the title : "Requiem - Claude Monet". This new program, inspired on the beautifull painting of Claude Monet dating of 1916 : "Water Lilies", in a success at CGN.

Our color guards start the competition with a second place in Waalwijk in January and a other 2nd Place in March in Goes.

For the CGN Championships 2011 (the final competition of this season in Holland), Our Guards in the A-CLASS competed with 14 strong units (CMH Menaldum, Intension, The Pride, Dynamix, Passie, 2Xtreme, Future Blaze, Euphonia, Mozaic, Concordia Sexbierum, Pure, The sound of Frankfurt, Impact). Xpression with a record high score of 76.95 pts, win the 6th place during the final performance.

Xpression joins in clinics conducted by professionals of this discipline in order to develop and improve in the best conditions. The rehearsals take place every Thesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm and sometimes during the week)end at the centre Gustave Engrand in Hellemmes and are managed by the Sébà Flohart.

Our color guard section is looking for new members (girl or boy) to prepare the next seasons. For the younger, Xpression has a junior section.
