STAR Percussion Ensemble
Unik
Star is musical and artistic corps of
about 35 members (musicians and color
guards) that performs for street parades
(corteges, cavalcades...) and for Taptoes
(festivals, fields performances...).
Inspired by the american groups, Unik
Star goes to France and other countries
in Europe for performances and competitions.
The group’s designation is "percussion
ensemble", title given to groups
only composed of percussion instruments
(snares, bassdrums, marimbas, xylophones,
cymbals...). Our group has instructors
who train the new members of the corps.
Many external professionals bring their
experience and new techniques in order
to improve and to reach perfection.

Tenacity,
rigor and energy are the 3 essential
values of UNIK STAR. On top of doing
music and danse, our group, a section
of the Comité Philanthropique d’Hellemmes
Guinguette, has also been involved for
several years in charity actions and
in the organization of the « braderie
» (big garage sale) which is now renowned
in the region. These actions are
mainly done to help the elder people
of the town.
Our rehearsals take
place every Tuesday and Thursday from
6:30pm to 8pm :

The
entrance of the park is located at the
angle of the street Faidherbe and the
street Jacquard in Hellemmes and behind
the supermarket Cora in Villeneuve d’Ascq.
Many rehearsals are also organized on
sundays in order to prepare the annual
